Worker dies after falling from restaurant sign in Devine

Victim identified as 33-year-old Elias Contreras

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man died at University Hospital Thursday evening after he reportedly fell more than 100 feet from a restaurant sign in Devine.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 33-year-old Elias Contreras.

A witness, James Corona, tells KSAT Contreras was reportedly working on the sign outside the Triple C Steakhouse in Devine when he fell.

Corona posted video of AirLife at the scene of the accident to KSAT's Facebook page.

The medical examiner said Contreras was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 5:51 p.m. Thursday.

No further information on how the accident occurred has been released.
