Deputy fires shots during pursuit in Comal County

Deputy on paid administrative leave as incident is investigated

COMAL COUNTY, Texas – The Comal County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that took place Monday night after a woman led deputies on a chase.

Deputies were called to the 14800 block of Cranes Mill Road at approximately 10:02 p.m. When they arrived, they saw a white Honda leaving the area in an erratic manner

Deputies said they attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver would not stop and led them on a pursuit.

The vehicle came to an abrupt stop during the chase. According to the Sheriff's Office, at that time, one of the deputies fired shots before the vehicle sped off and crashed into some trees on Wild Oak Drive.

The woman driving the vehicle was taken by AirLife to University Hospital in San Antonio, where she is now in stable condition.

Texas Rangers and the Sheriff's Office are investigating the incident.

The deputies who were involved have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
