Man arrested in aggravated robbery of New Braunfels Walmart

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Aaron Arnaldo Gomez, 22, was arrested Monday in New Braunfels and charged with the aggravated robbery of a Walmart in September.

Police said Gomez was confronted by store employees around 3 a.m. Sept. 22 as he tried to leave the store with unpaid items. Gomez is alleged to have shown a gun and threatened to hurt the employees if they continued to follow him. He left the store on foot.

Gomez was identified as a suspect and was arrested at a home in the 500 block of East South Street.

The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Comal County Sheriff's Office assisted New Braunfels police in the investigation.

Gomez faces between 5 and 99 years in prison if he is convicted on the first-degree felony charge.
