KERRVILLE, TexasUPDATE: The city of Kerrville said around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday that all phone lines have been repaired and 911 is operational again.

911 service is being affected Wednesday in Kerrville by a fiber optic phone line that was cut in Boerne associated with utility construction.

The city of Kerrville is urging residents that if they have an emergency, try calling 911. If that does not work, try calling 830-792-2730 inside city limits or 830-896-1218 outside city limits.

The numbers are for emergencies only and not to report outages

If residents don't have phone service and need emergency services, they are urged to visit their local law enforcement agency or fire department.
