Police arrest man in connection to fatal South Side shooting

SAN ANTONIO – Police arrested a man Tuesday night in connection with a fatal South Side shooting.

Police said Raymond Iruegas, 20, is the only suspect they are looking for. He has been charged with murder.

Ricardo Monarez was found shot to death Thursday morning with multiple gunshot wounds.

Narcotics and the murder weapon were found near Monarez’s body, police said.

Law enforcement caught up with Iruegas at the intersection of San Fernando and Brazos streets on the city’s West Side.
