Some passengers on American Airlines Flight 383 suffer minor injuries

CHICAGO – An American Airlines plane caught fire Friday on the tarmac of O'Hare International Airport in Chicago.

Videos from Jose Castillo on Twitter show the flames and spoke spreading as passengers are disembarked from the plane.

Officials said the plan caught fire when it was about to take off for Miami, forcing 161 passengers and nine crew members to evacuate.

There are reports that people sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The plane was American Airlines Flight 383. The fire has been put out, but the runway at O'Hare has been closed due to the disabled plane. Crews are still on the scene.
