18-year-old arrested for carjackings in SA, Austin

Deandre Lancaster is charged with aggravated robbery

SAN ANTONIO – A 18-year-old is facing charges after police say he played a part in several carjackings that took place in both San Antonio and Austin.

Deandre Lancaster has been charged with aggravated robbery.

According to an arrest affidavit, on Oct. 10 three people were sitting in a sport utility vehicle in a parking lot at a Jack in the Box located in the 5000 block of Evers Road when Lancaster allegedly flashed a gun and demanded their vehicle.

The affidavit said Lancaster and two others then drove off in the stolen SUV.

Several similar carjackings then took place during the next few hours with suspects matching the same description, the last of which took place in Austin where a Chrysler 300 was also stolen, the affidavit said.

The affidavit said Lancaster eventually was found by police driving the stolen Chrysler.

When asked about the vehicle, Lancaster confessed to the robbery at the Jack in the Box in addition to the other aggravated robberies that night.
