SAN ANTONIO – It’s been a year since San Antonio teen David Molak took his own life after being a victim of cyberbullying. Two state lawmakers are gearing up to fight for a bill that would protect other children from online bullies.

State Sen. Jose Menendez and state Rep. Ina Minjarez filed David’s Law in November in honor of Molak.

Senate Bill 179 and House Bill 306 would put more responsibility on school districts to combat and report cyberbullying.

The 85th Texas Legislature convenes on Tuesday.
