Man robbed bank after Googling ‘How to rob a bank'

PINELLAS PARK, Florida – A man robbed a bank after searching Google to find out how to do it.

William Joe Johnson, 26, tried to rob a bank in Florida on Oct. 5.

Once inside the bank, the suspect approached the bank teller, implied he had a gun and demanded cash, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Johnson made out with an undisclosed amount of cash and was found in a hotel room and arrested on Oct. 9.

When detectives interviewed Johnson he told them he was in need of money and searched “how to rob a bank” on Google, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Johnson, who was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, reportedly used the money for rent, utilities and drugs.
