Man charged in fatal stabbing of estranged wife

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing his estranged wife.

47-year-old Lewis Bright has been taken into custody.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, on Nov. 16 Bright allegedly stabbed the woman with a knife before taking her to an emergency clinic located on Nacogdoches Street.

Police said the victim told the medical staff that Bright had stabbed her and gave them an address where the attack occurred.

The affidavit said that when officers arrived at the apartment blood was found on the floor and the knife was in the kitchen sink.

A child of the victim stated that they had returned home from school to see Bright driving a car with the victim inside. The child later received a phone call from Bright allegedly telling them to clean up the blood in the apartment, the affidavit said.

Bright now faces a first degree murder charge.
