Family of Sutherland Springs church shooting victims thank community for support
Ward family send thank-you letter
SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas – A family of three people killed and one wounded in the Sutherland Springs church shooting offered their thanks Monday to people who have shown them support since the November massacre.
Ryland Ward was shot five times. His stepmother, JoAnn Ward, and siblings, Brooke Ward, 5, and Emily Garza, 7, were killed in the shooting. Ryland's sister, Rihanna, was also in the congregation at the time of the shooting, but was unharmed.
Ryland is doing better and is expected to be released from a hospital in February.
The Ward family emailed a letter and picture to KSAT 12 News asking us to post the following thank-you letter:
Merry Christmas from The Ward Family!
We wish to express our upmost and sincere appreciation to everyone for the generous outpouring of love, prayers and support we have received.
The cards, photos and gifts my children, Rihanna & Ryland have received from so many caring families has brought them so much joy and it has reminded me there are good people in this world.
For this I am truly grateful!
Wishing you and yours a very blessed Christmas!
Rihanna & Ryland
