Expectant father Spurs Jesus, wife hosting 'World's Biggest Baby Shower'

SAN ANTONIO – Expectant father Spurs Jesus is holding a baby shower to collect goods for nonprofit organizations that help new and soon-to-be parents who are in need.

Spurs Jesus and his wife, Karsen, are expecting a child in September and are hosting "The World's Largest Baby Shower" at Arneson River Theater along the River Walk on Sept. 7 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Admission to the event is a donation of an item that could be gifted to expectant parents:

  • Diapers
  • Non-perishable, unexpired baby food
  • Non-perishable, unexpired baby formula
  • Onesies, other baby clothes
  • Wipes

The couple's goal is to fill a river barge with donations including formula, baby food, diapers, wipes, onesies, baby clothes and more. 

Donations will be dispersed among the San Antonio Food Bank, the Texas Diaper Bank and the Salvation Army.

The event will be emceed by San Antonio Zoo spokesman Chuck Cureau.

The benefit baby shower will host a variety of bands, DJs and comedians and there will be food and drink vendors, retail vendors selling San Antonio-centric items and games with prizes.
