Northeast Bexar County man shot dead while baby was inside home

Shooter possibly escaped in dark-colored SUV, police say

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County Sheriff’s office investigators are trying to figure out who shot and killed a man inside a home while a baby was present.

They say the man’s girlfriend called them shortly after 11:00 p.m. Monday, saying she had returned to their Northeast Bexar County home and found the man with a gunshot wound in his chest.

Paramedics arrived at the home, located in the 6800 block of Stockport, but were not able to save him.

Deputies said they also found a baby inside the home. The child was not hurt and was turned over to another relative.

Deputies did not release the name of the man who was killed but said he was in his 20s or 30s.

Investigators say neighbors reported seeing a dark colored sport utility vehicle leaving the area.
