SAN ANTONIO – A 42-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting death of a 21-year-old man on San Antonio’s South Side.
Jesus Mendoza faces charges for the slaying of Jake Selph, 21.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, Selph and another man had gathered near a park by West Mitchell and King Roger on September 11 when the shooting broke out, officials said.
The suspect fled the scene and officers found Selph in the eastbound lane of West Mitchell with an apparent gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center where he died.
During an investigation, SAPD Homicide detectives identified Mendoza as the shooter and a murder warrant was issued for his arrest.
Mendoza was apprehended by members of SAPD’s Repeat Offenders Program and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
