If you want to celebrate Fiesta with a new furry friend, a few San Antonio pet shelters are offering adoption specials this weekend.
The Animal Care Services, Animal Defense League and San Antonio Pets Alive! are hosting specials of up to 60% off. For ACS, people will learn their specific discount when they crack a cascarone.

Animal Care Services
ACS said the Pawchanga adoption event will include “secret adoption specials” on Saturday and Sunday.
“With the crack of a confetti egg, adopters will learn what discounted adoption fee they will receive, and every new pet parent will leave with ‘pawty supplies’ for their new dog or cat,” a news release states.
Pets that are adopted at ACS are sterilized, microchipped and vaccinated with their first round of shots.
The release adds that people who adopt pets can get training sessions with a certified trainer at the shelter.
ACS’s main location at 4710 State Highway 151 is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Animal Defense League
The Animal Defense League of Texas is hosting a Furry Fiesta pop-up adoption special until Sunday.
Animals that are six months and older will have a 50%-off adoption fee. Pay-it-forward pets do not qualify.
ADL’s Nacogdoches Campus at 11300 Nacogdoches Road and Paul Jolly Campus at 210 Tuleta Drive are open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
Their new center, the Everyday Adoption Center at Petsmart at 8520 Fourwinds Diurve, is open from noon-7 p.m. daily.
Pets that are adopted at ADL are sterilized, microchipped and vaccinated with their yearly round of shots. Each pet is also covered by a 30-day health insurance policy through 24 Petwatch.

San Antonio Pets Alive!
SAPA! is having a Fiesta After Paw-ty adoption special from Saturday through Wednesday.
During this time, all cats, dogs, kittens and puppies will be 60% off. The special does not apply to ambassador fees.
The special applies to animals at any SAPA! location or foster care:
- Building One at Animal Care Services: 4710 Highway 151. Open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays and 1-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
- Petco Love Adoption Center: 6001 NW Loop 410. Open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
- Medical Care Center: 9107 Marbach Road (by appointment only). Open noon-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, closed Monday, and open noon-6 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays.

“San Antonio Pets Alive! is inundated with adoptable dogs, cats, and puppies who are ready and looking for their forever homes,” the organization said in a news release.
