Teenager shot after fight breaks out during basketball game at North Side neighborhood court, police say Incident occurred around 10 p.m. in 2300 block of Copper hill Drive
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after a teenager was shot at a North Side neighborhood basketball court late Thursday night.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the 2300 block of Copper Hill Drive, not far from Thousand Oaks and Highway 281.
According to police, several teens were playing basketball at the court when a fight broke out. That’s when, police say, a man in his 20s or 30s fired several shots, hitting the 19-year-old in the arm.
Police said the teens ran through a wooded area and knocked on the door of a nearby home for help.
The teen was taken by ambulance by Brooke Army Medical Center, where he’s expected to recover.
SAPD said the shooter has not been found. The investigation is ongoing.
