SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County District Clerk is hosting a Valentine’s Day event for those who may be celebrating their uncoupling.

The office will offer free doughnuts along with a free certified copy of Bexar County divorce decrees to individuals who were listed as a party on their divorce case. (The service will not be offered to third-party vendors.)

Martinez said the event is meant to be an alternate celebration for those who might not be celebrating Valentine’s Day in the traditional way.

“By waiving the fees for certified divorce decrees this can help brighten their day and offer something that has never been done at the District Clerk’s Office,” a press release said.

Martinez was newly elected to the District Clerk position in November and took office on Jan. 1.

She said she wants to continue this event every year going forward as a way to educate the public on the services offered by the Bexar County District Clerk’s Office and is making technology improvements that will help residents retrieve important documents faster and more conveniently.
