SAFD: Resident displaced after car catches fire, spreads to home

SAN ANTONIO – A West Side home was deemed unlivable by fire officials after a car caught fire and got out of control.

The fire happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Cincinnati Avenue, near Emory and Germania.

SAFD said a resident was working with a mechanic on a van and left to get more parts. However, the car caught fire when they returned and spread to the house.

Officials said the home is no longer livable. No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is working to assist the displaced resident to find a temporary place to live.
