SAN MARCOS, Texas – A person was arrested and two others are still wanted in connection with two shootings that happened over Halloween weekend in San Marcos.
San Marcos police said the shootings left one person dead and three people injured.
Both shootings happened hours apart and were about two miles away from each other.
Downtown shooting
According to San Marcos police, Patrick Dave Anderson, 24, is wanted in connection with a shooting that happened around 10 p.m. on Nov. 1 downtown near Kissing Alley.
Two groups were passing each other on the sidewalk when an argument broke out. Police said Anderson fired multiple shots, injuring two people and killing Ronnie Hernandez Jr., 19.
Anderson moved to San Marcos from Arizona in October and is believed to have left the city, police said. The U.S. Marshals Service is assisting in locating him.
Originally, police were searching for two suspects in the shooting. On Thursday, police said the second person was identified “and is cooperating with the investigation.”
At 1:15 a.m. on Nov. 2, Police Chief Stan Standridge ordered all downtown bars to close due to the shooting.
Post Road shooting
Police arrested one person and are looking for another in connection with a shooting that happened around 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 2, before the daylight saving time change, at The Outpost apartments on Post Road.
Multiple people called police to report a fight that turned into a shooting at the complex. When officers arrived, they found shell casings and “a large amount of blood” near the pool, police said.
One person was injured and taken to a hospital by friends before officers arrived.
John Anthony “Chucky” Contreras, 17, of Kyle, is wanted for attempted capital murder of multiple persons, police said.
A second suspect, D’antrae Houston, 17, was arrested on Nov. 6 in Lockhart for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Anyone with information on Anderson or Contreras’ whereabouts is urged to call the San Marcos Police Department at 512-753-2108 or submit a tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS.
