ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas – A man was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while changing a flat tire on Interstate 37, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 9 a.m. near mile marker 102 on southbound I-37.

The victim, a 52-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with serious bodily injuries, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
Atascosa County Deputy Chief Eric Kaiser told KSAT the man was on the shoulder of the highway changing a flat tire when he was hit by a passing vehicle.
Dash camera footage obtained by DPS shows the vehicle involved may be a newer-model white Dodge utility van with damage to the passenger-side mirror, according to DPS.
The crash caused an hours-long closure of the highway, which has since reopened.
