Woman in critical condition after being hit by vehicle on Southeast Side, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A 32-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing a Southeast Side highway late Wednesday night, the San Antonio Police Department said. The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the 10400 block of Highway 181 South, not far from Corpus Christi Highway and Interstate 37. According to police, the woman was struck by the vehicle while walking across Highway 181 from a convenience store to a mobile home park. Police said the driver of the vehicle was traveling north on Highway 181 and did not see the woman until it was too late. The driver of the vehicle did try to swerve to avoid hitting her, but the woman was clipped, police said.

1 dead in single vehicle crash in South Bexar County, BCSO says
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – One person is dead following a vehicle crash in South Bexar County early Monday morning, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash happened around midnight in the 3300 block of Hardy Road, not far from Campbellton Road and Interstate 37. According to deputies, the single-vehicle wreck started close to I-37 but ended up closer to Campbellton Road. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, not much information is known about the crash.

Authorities ID driver of 18-wheeler who died in fiery crash on I-37 in South Bexar County
SAN ANTONIO – The driver of an 18-wheeler who fatally crashed at the intersection of Loop 1604 and Interstate 37 last week has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. Robert Moore, 53, of San Antonio, was pronounced dead at the site of the fiery crash, which happened Thursday night. Police said Moore was driving an 18-wheeler that was carrying molasses and heading into San Antonio via the northbound lanes of I-37 in South Bexar County. The trailer and the tractor then separated, and the trailer ruptured, spilling molasses onto Loop 1604, police said. SAPD said a Dodge Caravan heading westbound on Loop 1604 was struck by either the truck or the trailer.

Helena Paige-Marie Dumas of San Antonio was pronounced dead on Saturday night after her family took her off life support, Sgt. San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera called the crash “horrific,” saying the scene will “forever be engraved” in the minds of first responders.

SAPD: Fatal motorcycle crash involving 18-wheeler closes Loop 410 EB between I-37, S. W.W. White Road
SAN ANTONIO – Loop 410 eastbound between Interstate 37 and S. W.W. White Road is presently closed following deadly vehicle collision late Monday night, San Antonio police said. According to police, two motorcyclists lost control of their vehicles and crossed the highway, causing an 18-wheeler to rollover. Police said one of the motorcyclists was killed in the crash and the other was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition. SAPD did not say exactly why the motorcyclists lost control. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.

Homeless man crossing street hit by car, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A homeless man crossing the street was hit by a car early Wednesday morning, San Antonio police said. The crash happened sometime before 7 a.m. near East Commerce Street and Interstate 37 downtown. According to police, the homeless man was crossing Commerce Street under Interstate 37 when he was struck by the car. Police said the man hit was taken to an area hospital as a precaution with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car did stop to render aid.

Man walking in middle of roadway struck by vehicle, BCSO says
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was struck by a vehicle in South Bexar County early Tuesday morning. According to deputies, the driver, a man in his 40s, was heading home from work and was headed south on Mathis Road when he hit the man who was walking in the middle of the roadway. The victim, a man in his 30s, was sent flying toward a fence and suffered serious injuries, deputies said. Investigators say the man hit lives nearby and was walking in the middle of the traffic lane when the crash occurred. The driver of the vehicle did stop and tried to help the man until EMS arrived.

Motorcyclist hospitalized after hitting guardrail on I-37, San Antonio police say
SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after he hit a guardrail on Interstate 37, according to San Antonio police. The crash happened around 11:45 p.m., Saturday, near the Loop 410 entrance ramp on I-37. Police say the man was approaching the entrance ramp when he struck the guardrail. The man was thrown from his bike and he landed on the shoulder of I-37, according to SAPD. No injuries were reported and both accidents blocked the southbound lanes of I-37 for nearly an hour.

18-wheeler crash leaves debris, cabbage on I-37 in South Bexar County
SAN ANTONIO – One 18-wheeler crashed into the back of another 18-wheeler in the northbound lanes of Interstate 37 early Tuesday morning, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. on I-37, between Mathis Road and Hardy Road in South Bexar County. Deputies said large debris and some cabbage that is was hauling was left on the roadway. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the Bexar County Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

SAPD: Driver crashes BMW on I-37 while trying to pass slower cars, lanes reopen
SAN ANTONIO – One man has been hospitalized following a major car crash on the northbound lanes of Interstate 37 at Fair Ave Thursday morning. San Antonio police officers said a man was driving a BMW car at a high rate of speed and passing slower vehicles on the highway around 9:20 a.m. The driver swerved to the left to avoid a vehicle, overcorrected to the right and hit a concrete wall. The driver, in his 30s, was ejected from his vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt, police said. The northbound lanes on the highway have since reopened.

SAPD: 2 women hospitalized after rollover crash on SE Side
SAN ANTONIO – Two women were taken to an area hospital following a rollover crash on the city’s Southeast Side late Monday night, San Antonio police said. The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. near Interstate 37 and Southeast Military Drive. According to police, the vehicle rolled over after rear-ending a truck. The two women were taken to University Hospital in stable condition. Police said alcohol did not play a factor in the crash and that the people inside the truck were not hurt.
