Operation Facelift renovates South Side business

Project works to restore appearance of SA businesses

SAN ANTONIO – One South Side business has a little more luster to its shine.

City Councilman Rey Saldana unveiled the latest product of Operation Facelift at the Reyes Insurance Agency on the South Side.

The ribbon cutting was held Monday morning.

The project is an ongoing effort to restore the appearance of neighborhood businesses around San Antonio.

Project associated work in partnership with the Department of Planning and Community Development to beautify areas around the Alamo City and bring the businesses up to code.

"You build one community up and you start to see other businesses start to clean up, too, and start to see there is a reinvestment in the corridor,” Irma Rodriguez, with PCD, said. “There's pride in the corridor and security is coming back into the corridor."

The Reyes Insurance Agency was the first project in the area to be renovated by Operation Facelift.

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
