San Antonio Pets Alive trying to find forever homes for homeless dogs

Get involved by fostering animals

SAN ANTONIO – Fifty dogs were flown from San Antonio to the Humane Society in Boise, Idaho, Tuesday morning, where they will be matched with a permanent family.

San Antonio struggles with pet overpopulation but Boise has room for more dogs reported SA Pets Alive.

"This is our biggest outlet for these lives. We expect to save over 1,000 dogs through transport this year. Last year we did over 500, and this year we've expanded so much more. We've gone from sending 50 dogs a month to sending over 100," SA Pets Alive marketing and events manager Erika Mullins said.

The cost of transporting each dog is approximately $175.

SA Pets Alive is asking the community to get involved by fostering animals or making a charitable donation.
