WALLER, Texas – The City of Waller Animal Shelter and Rescue has posted photos of the seemingly happiest dog in Texas.
Cheech, who has a 1,000-watt smile, is the biggest social media star for the shelter, which hasn’t even opened yet.
People interested in adopting Cheech may have to get in line because he’s had tons of applications. However, the post says, the shelter also has a lot of great homeless pups available.
This shelter was founded by first responders and residents in the city of Waller and is the first and only animal shelter of its kind in the entire county, according to a Facebook post.
The new shelter is able to take dogs from the city pound -- which euthanizes dogs after 72 hours -- and adopt them out to loving homes.
A post on the shelter’s Facebook page says the grand opening will be Nov. 12.
