The zoo is in Alvin, which is south of Houston toward Galveston.

For $6 million you can get 80 wooded acres; a 10,800 square-foot barndominium, which includes an apartment; 500 exotic animals and birds; jeeps; trucks; 7 trams; 16 barns; 10 ponds; a lake; 3,500 feet of waterfront on Dickinson Bayou; and a covered seating area that accommodates up to 400 people.

Some of exotic animals living at the zoo include zebras, ostriches, giraffes, kangaroos, lemurs, a white rhino and more.

The cost of feeding the animals is about $6,000 per month but the zoo turns a big profit.

For the entrepreneurial-minded people, know this: The zoo rakes in about $1 million in annual sales and runs at a more than 30 percent profit margin, according to listing agent Carolyn Spencer.

The owner is selling the zoo so he can retire.
