Handmade crafts for Teacher Appreciation Week

From cookie jars to creative pencil holders

SAN ANTONIO – Need an idea to show an educator recognition during Teacher Appreciation Week? Here are some suggestions for handmade crafts!

Celina Montoya, with Alamo City Mom's Blog, stopped by SA Live on Wednesday to provide parents some ideas for Teacher Appreciation Week, which begins May 5.

To show appreciation for a child's teacher, Montoya suggested filling a large, glass cookie jar with enjoyable things and adding a colorful bow.

Another creative craft to keep teachers motivated with about a month left in school is making a pencil jar out of a metal can and wrapping it with crayons.
