World Cup beer policy finally agreed by Qatari organizers
Organizers of the World Cup in Qatar have finalized a policy to serve beer with alcohol to soccer fans at stadiums and fan zones in the Muslim-majority country. FIFA said Saturday fans will be allowed to buy Budweiser beer with alcohol within the eight stadium compounds — though not at concourse concession stands — before and after games, and during evenings only at the official “Fan Festival.” The beer policy affecting most fans was announced just 11 weeks before the first game and finally fulfills an expectation since Qatar campaigned 12 years ago to be the first World Cup host in the Middle East.news.yahoo.com

Budweiser, Coke and Pepsi won't be airing Super Bowl ads this year
Budweiser, Coke and Pepsi, which have debuted some iconic Super Bowl commercials in the past, are opting not to pay the astronomical fee for a 30-second ad spot during the big game this year. Anheuser-Busch, which usually runs Budweiser and Bud Light ads during the Super Bowl, says it is donating the money it would have spent on the ads to coronavirus vaccination awareness efforts. A 30-second spot during the Super Bowl runs for an estimated $5.5 million, the AP reports. Of course, other brands will return to the Super Bowl commercial breaks, including M&M's, Pringles and Toyota, according to the AP. Chipotle will air its first Super Bowl ad touting the farmers who supply its food
Chipotle Mexican Grill will run its first-ever Super Bowl ad this year to highlight the farming practices of its suppliers. Big brands like Coca-Cola and Budweiser are sitting out the game this year, freeing up airtime for newcomers like Chipotle. A 30-second commercial during the football game will set companies back about $5.5 million this year, slightly less than 2020′s rate of roughly $5.6 million. On Super Bowl Sunday, Chipotle will donate a dollar from every order to the National Young Farmers Coalition, an advocacy group for young farmers, and customers who order from the chain's website or app won't have to pay a delivery fee. Budweiser will sit out Super Bowl, funneling marketing dollars to boost vaccine awareness
Budweiser will not be running a commercial during the Super Bowl for the first time in 37 years. Instead, the Anheuser-Busch InBev beer will use the marketing dollars to support Covid-19 vaccine awareness and access. In the week leading up to Super Bowl LV, Budweiser plans to run its Super Bowl ad digitally. AB InBev's other brands, including Michelob Ultra, Bud Light and Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade, will have in-game ads during the Super Bowl. Last year's Super Bowl drew about 100 million viewers, but attracting those eyeballs comes with a hefty price tag for advertisers.cnbc.com

And Super Bowl parties will be more likely to be smaller affairs with pods or families. “The Super Bowl is the most popular sports event, aside from the World Cup, that anybody is going to see," added Dartmouth's Argenti.

The more than 2% jump in volume was AB InBev's largest in over five years. But AB InBev pulled the plug on a proposed IPO of its Asian business in Hong Kong earlier this month, citing tough market conditions.
