SAN ANTONIO – A female pilot participating in the flyover celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19 Amendment Friday is hoping the event encourages women from all backgrounds to keep reaching for the stars. I watched ‘Top Gun’ and was like, ‘Man that was really cool!’ But the spark really happened around junior year of high school. I really started looking into the aviation job market. Here is somebody that is like me that is doing it.’”Law said the flyover is a physical manifestation to her. “It is a picture of where we are as women,” Law said.

SAN ANTONIO – Four World War II-era warbird airplanes put on a spectacle on Memorial Day to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Lewis Air Legends and the City of San Antonio hosted the flyover that traveled from the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery to the Northwest Side and Kelly Field and then looped around the city to the downtown area and the Pearl. Footage provided by Lewis Air Legends provides a bird’s eye view of the Three P-51 Mustangs and one B-25J Mitchell hovering around the city. San Antonio born and raised pilot says Memorial Day flyover is incredibly special

SAN ANTONIO – The B-25 is one of four World War II planes that cruised over San Antonio on Monday for a Memorial Day flyover and one of the pilots said he has worked for decades to get to where he is today. “I went to an airshow when I was young and saw the planes and it just stuck ever since then,” B-25 pilot Vincent Sosa said. This is the second flyover this month, but it’s going to be much different than the Thunderbirds. As for the reason for the flyover, it’s all about honor and making today special.

Thunderbirds to fly over San Antonio to thank front line responders to coronavirus pandemic

SAN ANTONIO – NOTE: Forecasted inclement weather in San Antonio and Austin could delay flyover times or postpone the flyover all together, according to social post on the Air Force Thunderbirds Facebook page. Aldridge has family in San Antonio, where he also trained earlier. “So we’ll be flying fairly low, fairly fast, fairly close,” Aldridge said. Thunderbirds release flight path for San Antonio flyoverThey will spend about half an hour over San Antonio before heading to Austin. “(Operation America Strong) really showcases what the Air Force, with 600,000 people in the Air Force, and the entire Department of Defense is capable of, when a team works together," Aldridge said.

F-16 flyovers in 3 Texas cities to take place Monday

The Air National Guard’s 149th Fighter Wing will fly over hospitals and medical support facilities in parts of Corpus Christi, Laredo and Lubbock Monday as a way to honor frontline healthcare workers amid the coronavirus pandemic. “We wanted to show our appreciation to all the frontline responders who are out there every day combating this virus,” said Col. Raul Rosario, 149th Fighter Wing commander. These flyovers are part of Operation American Resolve. They will fly southwest to northeast over Covenant Health Center, just north of Maxey Park between 22nd and 24th Street, and between Quaker Avenue and Nashville, then southwest to northeast over UMC (Texas Tech Health Center), north of 10th, south of 5th, between Texas Tech Parkway and Joliet Avenue before returning to base. The four jets will then continue flying to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi between 1:40 to 1:50 p.m. and west to east over CHRISTUS Spohn between Buford Street and Hospital Street, and between 25th Street and South 19th Street.
