Griddy customers moved to other electricity providers after ERCOT boots it from Texas market
AdIn all, Texas electricity providers failed to make more than $2.1 billion in payments that were due to ERCOT, according to another market notice Friday. AdGriddy passes wholesale electricity rates directly to customers, who in turn pay the company $10 a month. ERCOT said it was โworking closely with PUC staff and Affected Market Participants to ensure an efficient and effective transfer of customers.โ ERCOT spokesperson Leslie Sopko said she had no further details on Griddyโs customers. In a message to customers that Griddy spokesperson Lauren Valdes shared with The Texas Tribune, the company said ERCOT ignored requests for emergency help and shut it down Friday. Last week, Griddy warned customers about price hikes and encouraged them to switch to other providers, according to previous reporting by The Texas Tribune.

At a state government parking lot, an angry confrontation broke out between the Black teenagers and a much larger group of Trump supporters. The bullet struck the leg of a 15-year-old girl in the passenger seat who was arguing with Trump supporters through the sunroof. McKinney, an Army veteran and former Iowa National Guard member, told police that he fired in self-defense after the girls' vehicle reversed and struck a Trump supporter's pickup truck.
Surveillance footage captured 15-year-old Texas boy beating mother to death, police say
MCKINNEY, Texas โ A 15-year-old boy was charged with murder Sunday after surveillance footage captured him beating his mother to death in a North Texas home, according to police. McKinney police arrived at the home around 1 a.m. when they found the mother, Stacy Ellen Barney, 50, dead inside. Home security video allegedly captured the teen attacking Barney inside the family home, police said. The boy was arrested in the area during a search, according to investigators. Authorities did not comment further on the circumstances surrounding the beating or the injuries Barney suffered.
