Facebook, Instagram are back up after service outages
Facebook on Friday experienced an outage that interrupted its services, including its social network, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. "Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing some Facebook services," a Facebook spokeswoman said in a statement. "We resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologize for any inconvenience." The issues began around 1:30 p.m. ET and were resolved in about an hour.

SAWS announced Sunday morning that 98% of households have had their water restored, but a few areas still remain without water in the far North and Northwest Sides of town. As of 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, residents in the castle hills are have had their water service restored. Although water may be restored in most areas of the city, there are still plenty of areas that still fall under the active boil water notice that SAWS enacted last week. When is my power coming back on? CPS Energy CEO says complete outage relief coming in days
SAN ANTONIO – As power outages continue to plague San Antonio, the head of CPS Energy says relief may not arrive until the weekend. CEO Paula Gold-Williams told council members in a special council session Wednesday afternoon that changing weather forecasts continue to affect predictions on when that’ll end. And so it might be Saturday before we can get some really good relief,” Gold-Williams told council members. The Energy Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) which manages Texas’s power grid said 185 generating units tripped offline - some of them multiple times - because of the weather. She said CPS Energy is working with local businesses and organizations in the city to try to reduce power consumption.
Amazon Web Services outage causes issues for Roku, Adobe
Amazon's cloud-computing service on Wednesday was hit with an outage that took down some websites and services. A notice on Amazon Web Services' status page said it was experiencing problems with Kinesis, its service that processes large streams of data, causing "increased error rates" for a number of websites. The outage also impacted its ability to post updates to the status page. Major AWS customers including Apple, Slack and Netflix didn't appear to be experiencing any issues as a result of the outage. This is the first major outage to interrupt many customers since 2017, when the same US-EAST-1 Region experienced issues, knocking some websites offline.
