Driver killed after crashing into 18-wheeler

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 30s died Monday after he crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler at the intersection of Loop 410 and Southton Road.

San Antonio police said the driver of the big rig approached the intersection and proceeded when it was clear.

That is when the driver of a black car crashed into the 18-wheeler, police said.

The passenger in the car was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in serious condition.

The three people inside the truck were not injured.

Investigators said there were no skid marks on the street, and they are trying to determine why the driver of the car did not try to stop.
