Walmart, Amazon pull controversial Halloween costume from websites

Costume sparked outrage and is said to be offensive to transgender community

SAN ANTONIO – Retail giants Walmart and Amazon are removing a controversial Halloween costume from their website.

The outfit, called a "Tranny Granny" sparked outrage online with many saying it is offensive to the transgender community.

The costume includes a dress, headscarf and padding for the breasts and rear-end. The costume was reportedly listed by a third-party vendor named Rasta Imposta.

According to the news site LGBT Nation, Walmart says the costume violates its terms of service for third-party retailers.

The costume however is still available from other online retailers.
