Students move into new living quarters at UIW University president greets incoming students
SAN ANTONIO ā Students moved into their new living quarters Thursday at the University of the Incarnate Word.
More than 800 freshmen will join UIW this year, and about 320 of them will live on campus.
New UIWĀ president Dr. Tom Evans greeted the incoming students. He said this is one of his favorite times of the year.
āItās so fun to welcome the new students, to see the families. A lot of people like graduation the best because it's a wonderful time to celebrate. But to be honest, it's a lot easier to say hello and more fun to say hello than it is to say goodbye,ā Evans said.
A pinning ceremony for the students will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday. Undergraduate classes on campus begin Monday.Ā
