SAN ANTONIO – Fiesta 2016 is San Antonio's biggest party of the year! It runs from April 14-24 in various locations across the Alamo City. Here are the 12 Fiesta event you don't want to miss this year.

FIESTA FIESTA AT THE ALAMO — April 14 at Alamo Plaza

The official opening ceremony of Fiesta 2016 takes place in the front of the Alamo. Enjoy live entertainment and greet Fiesta Royalty and special guests.

Buy, sell or trade Fiesta pins and medals at Pin Pandemonium or crack cascarónes to kick off the Alamo City’s biggest festival.

FIESTA OYSTER BAKE —  April 15-16 at St. Mary’s University campus

Fiesta Oyster Bake's 100 Year Anniversary in this year! The event features more than 100,000 oysters served baked, raw and fried plus dozens of food and beverage booths.

Thousands of spectators will get to enjoy continuous musical entertainment, as well as a full carnival and fireworks spectacular on Friday evening.

TASTE OF NEW ORLEANS — April 15-17 at Sunken Garden Theater

Get a taste of the Big Easy at Taste of New Orleans 2016. Attendees can experience unique and exquisite New Orleans food and music in a festive, family friendly atmosphere.

The Sunken Garden is ADA accessible. Blankets, strollers and folding chairs are welcome.

ALAMO HEIGHTS NIGHT — April 15 at University of Incarnate Word campus

The 30th annual Alamo Heights Night will highlight food from some of San Antonio's leading restaurants and caterers.

There will be live musical entertainment on multiple stages and a carnival midway for kids.

TEXAS CAVALIERS RIVER PARADE — April 18 along San Antonio River

This year’s Texas Cavaliers River Parade is entitled “River of Champions” and takes place along the San Antonio River.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of people line the banks of the river to watch more than 40 festively decorated floats sponsored by local community organizations and military installations drift down the river.

NIOSA — April 19-22 at La Villita

NIOSA is one of the largest Fiesta festivals, featuring more than 250 elaborately decorated food and drink booths.

The festival also features more than a dozen nonstop entertainment stages in La Villita, one of San Antonio’s historic downtown districts.

CORNYATION — April 19-21 at Charline McCombs Empire Theatre

Cornyation, one of Fiesta’s most popular events, takes place this year at the McCombs Theatre.

The show’s irreverent script pokes fun at politicians, the prominent and the not-so-prominent.

A TASTE OF THE NORTHSIDE — April 20 at The Club at Sonterra

A Taste of the Northside is a night of savory bites, scrumptious drinks and high-energy entertainment.

The event features over 60 Northside restaurants. All-inclusive pricing includes: admission, food, drink tickets and shuttle service.

BATTLE OF FLOWERS BAND FESTIVAL — April 21 at Alamo Stadium

The 78th annual Band Festival will feature performances by 30 different area high school bands.

Featured bands will perform their winning UIL competition routines followed by an awards ceremony for winner of the festival, an art contest and a fireworks finale.

BATTLE OF FLOWERS PARADE — April 22 along Broadway and Commerce streets

This year’s Battle of Flowers Parade will celebrate its anniversary of 125 years with the parade theme: “TEXAS TRADITIONS…125 YEARS!”

The parade will embody the handing down of culture, pastimes and humor that have been characteristic of Texans from one generation to the next.

KING WILLIAM FAIR — April 23 at King William Historic District

The 49th King William Fair is a family fair with art and craft vendors, live music, food and beverage booths.

The fair also features a kids kingdom play area and a small parade on the streets of the historic district.

FIESTA FLAMBEAU PARADE — April 23 along Broadway and Commerce streets

The Fiesta Flambeau Parade is the largest illuminated night parade in the nation. This year’s parade theme is "Long Live Texas."

Approximately 700,000 people line the streets of downtown San Antonio to watch the parade.
