Free downtown parking plan begins Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO – Valentine's Day signals the start of the city's first Downtown Tuesday initiative, perfect timing for local sweethearts making plans for the evening.

A city press release says free parking will be available from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. in city-operated parking garages, parking lots and parking meters.

The Downtown Tuesday initiative was announced last week. The program aims to bring locals to Downtown San Antonio during the week to enjoy dining and entertainment. Parking fees will be waived every Tuesday evening for the forseeable future.  

The release says residents can also look out for the "Downtown Tuesday special" in order to get discounts on meals and rates.

City parking includes four garages and 12 parking lots at the following locations: Marina Garage; Houston St. Garage; St. Mary's St. Garage; Central Library Garage; ITC Lot; Continental Lot; Dolorosa Lot; Market Square Lot; Municipal Court Lot; I-35 Lot; Houston/Nolan Lot; Durango Lot; Finesilver Lot; San Fernando Lot; Rossy Lot; and Convention Center East Lot.
