Alamo Colleges: Crime report on NVC campus falsified

No description found

An Alamo Colleges representative on Wednesday said the reports of a student being robbed at knife-point on the Northwest Vista College campus were false.

On Tuesday, an alert went out electronically stating that a student claimed he was forced by two men at knife-point to go to an ATM and withdraw money.

An Alamo Colleges police investigation determined that the student was not held up as he stated. Instead, the student admitted that he agreed to buy "audio products" from the men and gave them money. The student said he later discovered that the audio products were not as "originally represented and reported the alleged crime."

The Alamo Colleges representative said falsely reporting a crime is an offense, but did not say whether the student will be charged.
