Edward Rojas accused of stealing body armor, high-powered scope from Bexar County deputy's car
Bexar sheriff's: Rojas, 20, charged with theft, used Texas Drivers License to pawn items
SAN ANTONIO – A man identified as 20-year-old Edward Rojas is accused of breaking into a Bexar County Sheriff's Office vehicle while the vehicle was parked in a deputy's driveway.
The Bexar County sheriff's deputy reported the theft on Sept. 16. An arrest affidavit stated the deputy told investigators body armor marked "Sheriff" and a high-powered scope were stolen from the vehicle.
Bexar County investigators checked a pawnshop database and noted the scope had been pawned by a man named Edward Rojas hours after it was stolen.
Bexar County investigators then checked surveillance video from the pawnshop and saw the suspect arrive at the shop in a vehicle similar to the one registered to Rojas.
The affidavit stated Rojas also used his Texas Drivers License at the pawnshop. Rojas was arrested a day later and charged with theft, the affidavit stated.
