Suspect in series of restaurant robberies charged

Juan Ramirez, 34, tied to 3 robberies so far

Juan Ramirez, 34, is believed to be the man who robbed several fast food businesses in San Antonio during a month long spree.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, San Antonio police have tied him to robberies at Jack in the Box on Military Drive on Christmas Eve, and  Taco Cabana on Malone Avenue on Jan. 20.

However, the affidavit stated they believe he is responsible for other recent robberies as well.

In the Jack in the Box robbery, police said Patterson wore a dark hood and ski mask and robbed workers at gunpoint.

They said he forced the workers to go to an upstairs room in the restaurant and open a safe, the affidavit stated.

Detectives developed clues about the getaway car from surveillance video from one of the businesses, the affidavit stated.

They said the owner of the car was Ramirez's girlfriend, but she has not been charged, the affidavit stated.

Ramirez was arrested Sunday on a charge of driving without a valid license. On Thursday, he was charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.
