Man arrested in teen's shooting death

Alexander Martin, 23, charged in death of Nikolaus Polzine, 19

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a man in the death of a 19-year-old who was found shot to death in a Northeast Side home on Oct. 11.

Alexander Martin, 23, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Nikolaus Polzine

Police investigators believe Martin was selling Polzine a shotgun at a home in the 100 block of Timberlane when the deal went bad, ending in Polzine's death.

KSAT's Mariza Mendoza spoke with Martin's family Tuesday evening and they claim he did not commit the crime, and the two were long-time friends.

However, according to the arrest warrant, two witnesses heard a gunshot during the sale of the shotgun and saw Martin running out of the house covered in blood.

Martin is accused of shooting Polzine once in the chest.

Police said Martin was arrested at a movie theater Tuesday afternoon and he neither confirmed nor denied the murder charge.

Martin was found to have methamphetamines on him at the time of his arrest and police said he will also face additional charges along with a first degree murder.

Martin was being held at the Bexar County Jail Tuesday evening.
