SAN ANTONIO – Four suspects, Christopher Sharp, 31; Vanessa Zurita, 32; Elisha Ramirez, 30; and Anthony Ayala, 24, are accused of kidnapping and shooting at a man, all because they wanted his Play Station 4 video game system.
Bexar County Sheriff's deputies found the alleged victim around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, running across U.S. Highway 181 South near a convenience store not far from Corpus Christi Road in Southeast Bexar County.
According to spokeswoman Rosanne Hughes, the man told detectives he had been kidnapped, robbed and shot at by a group of people who wanted his PlayStation 4.
Hughes said he told them the suspects took him at gunpoint from a bar near Highway 181 South and Spur 122, then drove him to a nearby mobile home park.
Deputies had responded to the bar for a report of shots fired.
However, when they arrived, everyone had scattered from the scene, Hughes said.
Within minutes, deputies heard additional shots coming from the mobile home park, she said.
Tony Apolinar happened to be sitting on his porch outside his mobile home and saw some of the violence unfold.
He said a group of people with guns drove up, then began arguing before they all seemed to turn on one man.
"As soon as the guy got punched, he ran right here around my car," Apolinar said. "And as soon as he made it to the front of my car -- the guy was standing right there--he took a shot right at him."
Apolinar said he and his brother were sitting in the line of fire, and quickly ran inside his home.
"It's so close to my house and I have my babies inside," he said. "It's not good at all."
Deputies who were in the area tracked down the victim.
They said he then led them to a home in the 7500 block of Richter Road where they arrested the suspects.
All four face charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
Sharp and Ayala also face the additional charge of being a felon in possession of a weapon.
