SAN ANTONIO – A 22-year-old man is facing a charge of aggravated robbery after allegedly confessing to the crime and naming three other men who he said were accomplices.
Meza underwent questioning by Bexar County sheriff's detectives two days after the Jan. 14 robbery, but was charged in connection with the crime on Thursday, according to an arrest affidavit.
The affidavit stated that deputies responded to a Valero Corner store in the 8000 block of FM 78 on Jan. 14 for a report of a robbery.
A store clerk told them that two men with guns demanded cash from the register.
Investigators who were following up on the case developed leads, identifying Meza and three other men as their suspects, the affidavit stated.
On Jan. 16, Meza and his attorney met with detectives, and Meza admitted to being involved in the crime, the affidavit stated.
Detectives said he told them that he and another man committed the robbery while two others remained outside as lookouts.
Although the three other men were identified by name in the affidavit, it does not appear that they have been arrested yet.
