50 shots fired, man hit once on East Side

Victim was shot in the back; taken to SAMMC for injuries

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after someone fired more than 50 rounds at a vehicle, hitting a man once.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Fargo Avenue, found near Spriggsdale Boulevard and Martin Luther King Drive on the city's East Side.

Police said the victim is a 44-year-old man. The man was sitting in the passenger's seat of a car parked outside of a home.

Despite the number of shots, the victim was hit only once in the back and was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center. Police said he's expected to recover.

Authorities said the man is not cooperating with police.

The suspects took off and authorities are still looking for them.

The investigation is ongoing.
