Brother shoots sister over money, police say

SAN ANTONIO – A family fight Saturday night ended in gunfire that left a woman and her brother wounded.

Police said the man went to his sister's apartment around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Apperson to ask for money, but when she and her husband refused, the brother pulled a gun and shot her in the head.

The bullet grazed the woman, and then her husband grabbed his own gun and shot the brother, police said.

Police said the brother, suffering from a wounded in the arm and thigh, drove a few blocks to Castroville Road and Barclay and called 911.

The wounded man and the sister were taken to University Hospital. Their status was not immediately known.
