2 hospitalized, including suspect, after apartment shooting on Northeast Side

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating a shooting incident that sent two people, both a suspect and the original shooting victim, to the hospital overnight.

The shooting was reported just before 9:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Cripple Creek, found on the city's Northeast Side.

Police said the suspect entered the apartment and shot the victim before others inside returned fire -- eventually hitting the suspect.

Police said the suspect jumped a fence and ran from the scene before showing up at Northeast Baptist Hospital. He was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center. 

The victim of the shooting was taken to University Hospital for his injuries.

A motive for the shooting is not presently known.

The investigation is ongoing.
