USAA, Walmart funding programs to help San Antonio veterans

2 new programs to help veterans

SAN ANTONIO – Two new programs launched Wednesday to help San Antonio veterans.

Bunker Labs will expand to the Alamo City, with funding from USAA, to help veterans grow and expand their businesses.

AmericaServes will also launch and work to create a network of existing veteran resources and simplify veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.

The Walmart Foundation and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University is providing the funding for AmericaServes.

“So if you provide this one-stop shopping, where they can come in and be told if you have this need, here's where you go, if you have this other need here's where you go,” John Bird, senior vice president of Military Affairs at USAA, said. “So, you're helping the veterans find the right place to identify the support that they need."

USAA is hoping these two concepts will help better organize what is available.
