Suspected drunken driver crashes into police vehicle

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said they were trying to remove a fallen tree from the middle of the road when a suspected drunken driver slammed into one of their vehicles overnight.

The accident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. in the 11200 block of Huebner Road.

Police said a tree had fallen and was blocking a lane. Police had blocked off the street and was attempting to remove it. 

That's when, police said, a pickup truck rear-ended the police cruiser. The officer was out of the vehicle when the accident occurred, police said.

The driver was arrested at the scene and no one was hurt in the crash.
