BCSO detention officer charged with DWI

Krystal Borrego, 32, has been taken into custody

SAN ANTONIO – An off-duty Bexar County Sheriff's Office detention officer was charged with a DWI early Friday morning.

San Antonio Police arrested 32-year-old Krystal Borrego for driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for a traffic violation.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near Interstate 37 South and Hot Wells.

Borrego, a BCSO Detention Officer hired in August of 2016, is currently assigned to the 2nd shift at the Adult Detention Center, the BCSO said.

Bond for Borrego has been set at $1000. Borrego will be placed on administrative leave pending further criminal investigation of the case by SAPD.
