DEL RIO, Texas – UPDATE:
An airman has been killed and another injured after an Air Force training jet crashed near Amistad Reservoir on the Texas-Mexico border.

The Val Verde County Sheriff’s Department confirmed it is investigating after a plane crashed near Lake Amistad on Monday.
According to a KSAT viewer, the plane went down near Highway 90 West and Agua Dulce Trail, near the lake.
The Air Force confirmed it was a Talon T-38 plane assigned to Laughlin AFB that crashed around 4 p.m., the 47th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs said in a statement.
Laughlin emergency response personnel and local responders responded to the scene to assist in recovery efforts.
A board of officers will investigate the accident.
