SAN ANTONIO – A 15-year-old boy charged in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Lauren Vasquez appeared in court on Monday for a detention hearing.
The hearing was held to determine whether the 15-year-old would remain in custody. It was recommended that the boy remain in custody because he is a danger to himself and the public.
The boy was one of two teens arrested in Vasquez's death. Names of the teenage suspects are being withheld due to their age.
Police said the two teens, both 15-years-old, were visiting Vasquez and another victim at their apartment when they got into an argument. Police believe the 15-year-old boy shot the victims and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle with a 15-year-old girl.
The girl was charged with evading arrest.
