Arrest made in credit card fraud case totaling more than $300K

Adewale Vaughan, 30, faces multiple federal charges

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – An arrest has been made in an ongoing credit card fraud case recently featured by the New Braunfels Police Department.

Adewale Vaughan, 30, faces multiple federal charges including aggravated identity theft.

The New Braunfels portion of the investigation began in July when credit cards were stolen from a locker at a workout facility in the area and were used at Best Buy and Lowe's.

Investigators learned the suspect had used similar methods to make fraudulent purchases all over the country totaling to more than $300,000 over the past year.

Vaughan was stopped in Katy on Tuesday and arrested without incident. He was booked into the Federal Detention Center in Houston.
